Self-supporting sandwich panel for fire-resistant roof with side overlap wing, with exterior finish corrugated with 5 corrugations and side overlap wing over corrugation.
The new 5G Fire-resistant Sandwich Panel by PRONTOPANEL is composed of an external steel sheet with pre-coated finish profiled with 5 corrugations (one empty) and ribbed in the intercorrugation area, which provides it with high mechanical resistance, especially for long spans between supports. Inside, it contains a non-combustible rock wool core, which provides excellent thermal and acoustic insulation to the panel. At the bottom, it is finished with a pre-coated steel sheet that can be supplied in white or wood appearance, allowing the panel itself to serve as the interior finishing surface of the building. At the lateral joint between panels, the empty corrugation (wing) is placed over the filled corrugation of the adjacent panel, and both are fixed in place, leaving the fastening visible. This type of overlap provides greater waterproofing security for the roof and simplifies the installation with fewer auxiliary elements.
These properties allow using the insulated sheet with lateral overlap as an alternative to other types of roofing, providing multiple advantages such as:
- Simplicity and speed in installation (there is no need to create multiple functional layers to build the roof).
- Fire-resistant partitioning capability with a single element.
- Optimization of the supporting structure, as they are designed for large distances between purlins.
- Excellent insulation within the sheet itself, eliminating the need for intermediate insulation, as they are also available in thick layers of polyurethane foam.
- Lightweight system that allows for significant weight savings in the design of supporting structures, providing additional cost savings.
- Improved waterproofing and moisture resistance, as the panels have double protection with a watertight joint at the seam and an overlapping joint cover that conceals the seam from the outside. Additionally, the non-absorbent nature of both the exterior and interior sheets prevents the appearance of stains on the interior surface of the ceiling.
- Customized solution for all roof finishes such as edges, gutters, ridges, and valleys, etc., which, in traditional roofs, often require on-site finishing that is sometimes poorly executed.
The 5G Fire-resistant Sandwich Panel or Fire-resistant Insulated Panel from PRONTOPANEL is ideal for roofing solutions in commercial, agricultural, or industrial buildings that, due to their activity, the materials they store, or their proximity to other buildings, require fire compartmentalization.
The core structure of the panel, made of non-combustible material fibers, contributes to delaying the spread of fire to the other side of the enclosure through panel collapse, aiding in the evacuation of the building and facilitating firefighting efforts. This behavior is classified based on the minutes during which the panel maintains its: R: Mechanical resistance in case it supports any load. E: Integrity as a barrier separating fire and gases. I: Insulation against the passage of heat produced by the fire to the opposite side For example, a panel certified as REI 30 would maintain all three of the aforementioned properties for at least 30 minutes.
The 5G Fire-Resistant Sandwich Panel from PRONTOPANEL is installed easily by assembling the panel next to the previous panel in a way that the wing of the panel fits over the groove of the previous panel. Then, fastening is performed through both panels. Optionally, a specific washer or capellotti can be used to enhance the already good sealing of the system.
In the case of long eaves, it is possible to install panels in multiple sections along the length of the eave. To do this, you will need to request that some of the panels have a lap tab. First, install the downstream panel, and then place the upstream panel with the lap tab so that it overlaps a portion of the downstream panel, creating an overlapping zone between the two. There is the possibility of supplying panels with longitudinal overlap upon request. Consult our installation manual available on this page.
For installation, auxiliary elements will be required for fastening, sealing, and finishing your roof. You can refer to the ‘Finishes and Accessories’ section for more details. For more information, consult the manual or send us your inquiry without obligation, and we will study the optimal solution for your roof.
The Fire-Resistant 5G Sandwich Panel from PRONTOPANEL can be supplied in lengths of up to 9.60 meters.
We have the same panel available in various thicknesses ranging from 40 to 150 mm. In this way, we can adapt to the various insulation and fire resistance requirements of the customer.
Exterior and interior finish available in a wide range of colors.
Upon inquiry, it is possible to supply panels with longitudinal overlap directly from the factory.

TORNILLO
