Self-supporting Sandwich Panel for Roofing with a lateral overlap wing, featuring an exterior finish with 5 grooves and a lateral wing overlap over the groove; and an interior finish with perforated sheeting with an R3T5 pattern.
The new 5G Acoustic Sandwich Panel by PRONTOPANEL is composed of an exterior steel sheet with pre-coated finish, profiled with 5 grooves (one empty) and ribbed in the inter-groove area, providing it with high mechanical strength, particularly suitable for large spans between supports. Inside, it contains a fire-resistant core of rock wool, providing excellent thermal and acoustic insulation to the panel. The bottom is finished with a perforated pre-coated steel sheet, providing excellent sound absorption of interior noise and serving as the interior finishing surface. At the lateral joint between panels, the empty corrugation (wing) is placed over the filled corrugation of the adjacent panel, and both are fixed in place, leaving the fastening visible. This type of overlap provides greater waterproofing security for the roof and simplifies the installation with fewer auxiliary elements.
These properties allow the insulated panel with a lateral overlap to be used as an alternative to other types of ceilings with acoustic properties, offering multiple advantages such as:
- Simplicity and speed in installation (there is no need to create multiple functional layers to build the roof).
- Ability to attenuate noise with a single element.
- Optimization of the supporting structure, as they are designed for large distances between purlins.
- Lightweight system that allows for significant weight savings in the design of supporting structures, providing additional cost savings.
- Improved tightness and resistance to moisture, as the panels have double protection with a tight joint at the union and an overlapping finish that conceals this joint from the exterior. Furthermore, since the exterior and interior sheets are not moisture-absorbent, the appearance of stains on the interior surface of the ceiling is eliminated.
- Customized solution for all roof finishes such as edges, gutters, ridges, and valleys, etc., which, in traditional roofs, often require on-site finishing that is sometimes poorly executed.
The PRONTOPANEL 5G Acoustic Sandwich Panel or Acoustic Insulated Panel is ideal for roof solutions in commercial, sports, industrial, or agricultural buildings that, due to their activity, require noise attenuation inside.
The interior sheet of the panel, perforated with an R3T5 pattern, has the property of absorbing the sound waves it receives. This reduces or eliminates the reverberations and echoes that various sources of noise inside the building may produce, thus contributing to a reduction in the overall sound level. This is a typical case in large warehouses with various noisy machines scattered in some of their work areas, or in large public gathering halls with sound systems. In the latter case, it would improve the sound quality of the room.
In addition to the previous property, it is worth adding the great sound insulation capacity of Rockwool, so it also provides good noise insulation properties towards the exterior of buildings or premises.
The PRONTOPANEL 5G Acoustic Sandwich Panel is installed easily by mounting the panel alongside the previous panel so that the panel’s extreme wing mounts over the previous panel’s rib. Next, the fastening is executed through both panels. Optionally, a specific washer or capellotti can be used to further enhance the already good sealing of the system.
In the case of long eaves, it is possible to install panels in multiple sections along the length of the eave. To do this, you will need to request that some of the panels have a lap tab. First, install the downstream panel, and then place the upstream panel with the lap tab so that it overlaps a portion of the downstream panel, creating an overlapping zone between the two. There is the possibility of supplying panels with longitudinal overlap upon request. Consult our installation manual available on this page.
For installation, auxiliary elements will be required for fastening, sealing, and finishing your roof. You can refer to the ‘Finishes and Accessories’ section for more details. For more information, consult the manual or send us your inquiry without obligation, and we will study the optimal solution for your roof.
The PRONTOPANEL 5G Acoustic Sandwich Panel can be supplied in lengths of up to 9.60 meters.
We have the same panel available in various thicknesses ranging from 40 to 150 mm. This way, we can adapt to the different needs for noise attenuation, sound insulation, and fire resistance required by the customer.
Exterior and interior finish available in a wide range of colors.
Upon inquiry, it is possible to supply panels with longitudinal overlap directly from the factory.
TORNILLO
